Are the needles safe?
The needles used
to stimulate acupuncture points have no
resemblance to hypodermic needles! The needles are
disposable, solid stainless steel, sterile and are
extremely
fine, barely thicker than
a human hair. Minimal discomfort
is
felt upon insertion and an average of four to eight are
used during treatment. Since 1997 the State of Florida has
mandated the use of sterile disposable needles be used in treatment.
